Structure & Performance Advantages of Insulated Garage Door Panels

The panel of our garage door adopts premium sandwich construction, which features a three-layer composite structure consisting of outer galvanized steel, middle polyurethane thermal insulation core, and inner galvanized steel. This integrated laminated structure combines the mechanical strength of metal materials and the thermal insulation performance of polymer materials, achieving a perfect balance between durability and energy efficiency.

The galvanized steel used for door panels is commonly known as color-coated coil in the industry. It is processed on the basis of high-quality galvanized steel plates, with customized protective coatings and colorful finish layers attached to the steel surface. The special surface treatment effectively isolates the steel substrate from air, moisture and corrosive substances, endowing the door panel with excellent anti-corrosion, anti-rust and weather resistance, and greatly extending the service life of the garage door in various complex outdoor environments.

The middle polyurethane (PU) filling layer is the core functional part for thermal insulation and heat preservation. It greatly optimizes the thermal insulation performance of the garage door. The thermal insulation effect of the door panel is professionally defined by the R-value (thermal resistance value). In general, the thickness of the garage door panel is positively correlated with the R-value: the thicker the door panel, the higher the thermal resistance value, and the better the heat insulation, heat preservation and energy-saving effects. This design can effectively block outdoor heat conduction in summer and prevent indoor heat loss in winter, maintaining a stable temperature inside the garage.

In terms of material customization, the standard configuration of the garage door panel is high-quality galvanized steel with a conventional thickness of 0.35mm. To meet diverse application scenarios and customer demands, two optional thickness specifications of 0.45mm and 0.5mm galvanized steel are also available. In addition, the original double-sided galvanized steel can be replaced with 0.5mm double-sided aluminum plates for upgraded performance, and this customized material solution is subject to minimum order quantity requirements.
